Ghana is the closet landmark to the centre of the earth. The Greenwich Meridien passes through the port city of Tema, which lies about 15 kilometres from the city of Accra. The Equator lies just 500km below Tema, making Tema the closest city to the intersecting point of Latitude 0 and Longitude 0 degrees, making it a near-perfect centre of the earth.
