Her Excellency Akua Sekyiwa Ahenkora is a career Diplomat who joined the Ghana Civil Service in 1991. Prior to her appointment as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malaysia in 2018, Her Excellency was the Director for Africa and Regional Integration Bureau and the Head of the ECOWAS National Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
In the course of her career, she has served as the Director for Estates and General Services, and a Deputy Director at the Policy Planning Monitoring & Evaluation, and Multilateral Relations Bureaux of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. She has also served as Assistant Director of Administration at the Ministry of Defence. She has served in Ghana Missions abroad as the Deputy Head of Mission and Deputy Permanent Representative of Ghana to UNEP, UN-Habitat and the United Nations Offices at Nairobi, Kenya as well as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Ghana High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Her Excellency is an avid reader and holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Affairs from the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) of the University of Ghana; Master of Business Administration (Human Resource Management Option) from the Business School of the University of Ghana, Legon; a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration, Accra; and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Geography & Resource Development with Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
She has attended a number of courses both locally and internationally. She has participated in a number of international conferences, workshops and seminars.
